Bell’s E-Max inner liner maximizes energy management through a state-of-the-art molding process.
 

E-max Plus liner system
E-Max Plus is a full coverage liner system that surrounds your head with protection extending liner material beyond the standard Snell test zone. Others don’t. Many of the direct impacts on the helmet during racing accidents are outside the Snell test zone. Bell invites you to take a look inside your helmet and see if you are completely coverage.

CarbonX
We are pleased to announce that all of our SA rated helmets for 2006 will feature a Carbon X interior. Carbon X has outstanding flame retardant properties and allows perspiration to evaporate from the skin for increased cooling. The interior will dry more quickly after use, is very durable and resists pilling. We did extensive track testing in 2005 with our NASCAR drivers including Michael Waltrip.

Kevlar Chin Strap – Bell uses Kevlar chin straps for extra strength and fire resistance.

Lightweight Tri-Weave Shells – Bell uses a specific weave of high technology aerospace grade laments including Kevlar, Carbon Fiber and Fiberglass to create an ultra light weight outer shell in our Ultra and Pro Series helmets.

Fiber-Tech Shells - Bell combines hand-laid lamination and thermo-set resin to create a strong, standard-weight shell in our Racer Series helmets. We use powder coat instead of gell coat as a mold release to further reduce weight.

Fire retardant primer – All Bell helmet shells go through a second fire retardant primer process to assure that they conform to the Snell SA requirement that the helmet to be flame resistant.

Made in the USA – Bell’s Ultra, Pro and Racer series helmets are proudly made in our manufacturing facility in Rantoul, Illinois.

Certified to Snell - our helmets are certified to the current Snell 2005 standard. We don’t make “special certification” helmets or “custom lay-up” helmets. Customers purchase the same helmet we would send to Snell for certification or to our sponsored professional drivers.

Quality Lexan Shields (ClearVision)
Hand-formed Lexan shields provide optical clarity and maximum protection against penetration. All shields feature Bell’s patented shield pivot control system and come with adjustable tear-off posts. Shields are available in clear, light smoke, dark smoke, high resolution Amber, blue chrome, silver chrome and gold chrome.

Shield Resistant Visor (SRV) – Ultra Series / Pro Series / BR-1

Bell has improved the performance of our visor with the design and introduction of the SRV friction shield system. This new system has a slide mechanism that allows the driver to adjust the tension on the shield allowing for multiple opening positions. When properly adjusted and in the locked position, the SRV systems helps reduce the possibility of the shield opening during an impact. The SRV system will be incorporated into the following Ultra and Pro series models and the new BR-1:

Ultra Series – Dominator, Vortex, Vortex FA,
                   Vortex TFA
Pro Series – M3, M3 Xtra, M4 Pro, GTX
Racer Series – BR-1

Stainless Steel Chin Strap Screw and Clip – Bell uses top grade stainless steel on our chin straps and screws. Many companies use rivets to attach chin straps which can corrode and weaken when exposed to excess moisture from perspiration.

Detent Shield Control
Bell’s unique pivot control system allows the user to keep the shield open in two positions. The system also features a lock down button to keep the shield closed when the helmet is in use.
